Being a student athlete is a major responsibility. And even though school should come first, most student athletes put everything before their studies. As representative of your school, every student athlete must demonstrate a high level of respect for their role. That means, character is the main ingredient in maintaining a high level of success on and off the field. Mind you, leadership is necessary to develop and maintain a strong character. Above all, a person must be a willing learner, and a team-player for any success to happen

Black history is not a "month" of reminiscing of defeats, but a celebration
of triumphs; one not of color, race, ethnicity or religion, but a triumphant of the human spirit to overcome when life is threatened and quitting is not and option!
It is also important that we as "not a black race" but the all encompass human race unite. segregation solves nothing. It is more of a problem than a solution. But still, we've come a long way, and still, we have yet a longer ways to go.
