How do you cope with figuring your life out and avoid comparing yourself to others?
This blog post aims to address one of the most common struggles that society, leaders, high achievers, and some top post-secondary students often battle with. Today I'm going to share with you several principles to help you address this question.
By the way, thanks for your question; an excellent one.
This “FIGURING YOUR LIFE OUT” is something over 70% of society struggle with, and the answer is quite simple. Here are some important principles we must understand to begin your journey to make sense of it all.
You don’t “cope” with figuring out life…you make a decision to take action by starting with a goal/destination in mind.
Before you can take any action, you must know the difference between “life” and living. Life is a gift and living is the process by which your every action is a validation for the gift of life you were granted. Most people struggle because they are out of alignment and like an old car, desperately need a tune-up.
In other words, their actions do not align to a specific vision because they don’t have a vision of who they are, what they are good at, what they were created to do, many are unaware of where they are, (current location…"MPSOS"…mentally positioning sense-of-self), and most do not have a clear direction of where they are supposed to go. This results in self-doubt, lack of purpose, indecisiveness regarding decision-making, and a lack of desire to live.
Next, it is our hope that you'd join Andrew for a life-changing experience in his upcoming work-life transformational workshop.

Top 10 Principles to consider when address all things self:
3. You don’t figure life “out” you start inside before working on the outside. This is an “internal” operation that is manifested externally.
4. The result of what is manifested externally, is all subjected to what is going on internally. Here’s what I mean. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so he becomes…
Now a man is used metaphorically as a common name for humanity, so “he” refers to the human, and not “s/he” as society is accustomed to.
5. The confusion that many face today is not that they struggle to figure life out…that is not their problem. Living is the part they are mostly having problems with. They don’t know what to do to make them feel alive, valued, counted, included, or how to find the number one thing every human search for…a sense of community.
6. When you discover who you are internally, the take informative actions to uncover your gifts, then use them for the betterment of humanity, you’ll find that you have less time comparing yourself to others.
Understand your uniqueness
7. It is crucial that you first see yourself as an individual, and not part of a crowd. Here’s why. Every crowd is a combination of individuals assembling for a worthy caused or an intentional purpose. Consider a crowd similar to a fist. The fist is only made possible because of the individual fingers coming together.
Now let’s go a little deeper. It is also important that you understand that you do not have five fingers…but rather, you have four fingers, one thumb, five phalanges with five distinct finger prints.
These appendages are not a group, neither are they a fist. They are assembled individuals with a specific purpose in mind, and so are you.
Know your biological finger print
8. Now, let’s dig even deeper: you are not to compare yourself to others because in doing so you compromise your sense of individuality and forfeit your biological finger print. You are necessary for the hand to be completed. Without you, the hand is incomplete because it is missing a digit who is lost and can’t find its way back to the fold for the purpose of making a fist.
9. Please note that the fist is only made possible because of purpose and direction. The phalanges only come together with the purpose of carrying out a specific function like (holding a writing utensil, grasping an eating utensil); in other words, your hands don't just randomly come together; they are purposely designed with a specific function in mind. The fingers and or thumbs only aggregate (come together) on purpose, for the purpose for carrying out a function to complete a purposeful mission.
Spend some time getting to know you better
9. Lastly, spend some time getting to know yourself, appreciate what you discover about you, embrace every part of your discovery because this makes you an individual. Just like the fingers with its individual prints.
10. Once you figure out the first part of knowing yourself, do an assessment to uncover how your skill set complements others.
This self assessment will help you to understand what you have that the world (a system of interconnected people) needs, and make this your goal to fulfill that need in the world.
As you go about fulfilling this need in the world, you will then see yourself as a solution to the many problem that the world desperately need solving. This will give you purpose.
Find a reason to get up everyday
11. You’ll now have a viable reason to get up each day because you have finally discovered how you fit into the big picture. Like a picture, you are one pixel, and together we complete the big picture that makes humanity come alive.
No longer will you be stuck trying to figure your “life” out, you will be living it “outward” as you spend your living days seeking for new ways to solve the world’s most intricate problems.
You are an individual, not a groupie
No longer will you compare yourself with others, but you will now use your uniqueness to complete the missing pixel to finally make the world a completely beautiful picture that takes the breath of doubt away and leaves you speechless, and in awe of your newly discovered self.
In the end, what you will find is the one original you.
